  1. Kathy, Judy, Dan, Tom, Jerry, Garry and families, I am so very sorry to hear about Howard’s passing. He was such a fine and gentle man who comforted our family through many of life’s heart-breaks. I know your hearts are heavy, and that your lives are forever changed. But I hope you find comfort in knowing that your dad’s best attributes and his love live on in you and your children. Please know that your dad and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
    Kindest Regards,
    Judy Zeigler

  2. Sorry about Howard passing away. He was a fine man and I can recall working with him at the old Potter County Bank in Gettysburg,S.D. before he was assigned to the bank at Miller. We had a going away party for him with all the Gettysburg bank staff…which I recall was quite a party. Howard’s management and leadership skills and abilities were obvious from his first day at the Miller bank. My sympathy to his family and friends…

  6. Howard Peterka absolutely “walked the walk and talked the talk” and his rules to live by fit him to a T. He was an elegant man with extreme integrity.
My image of him is that picture that you chose for his obituary.
I admired him from afar for many, many years. I am glad that I got to know the Peterka family growing up in Miller, SD. Howard and Marilyn both are awesome memories.
May all of you find peace…deb

  7. My heartfelt sympathy goes to the entire Peterka family. Howard was my first cousin( his mother,Ella and my father,Joseph Zemlicka, were brother and sister)I have been gone from Miller for 60 years moving around as an Air Force wife and flying for the Airlines, so rarely got to see Marilyn and Howard. However, I had the utmost admiration for both of them> Marilyn was this pretty little lady and Howard was the handsome debonair. They were a lovely couple. Howard was always a very diligent worker, and it looked like he passed his intelligence on to his family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.
