Eunice Holmstrom
November 23, 1917 ~ December 21, 2011
Eunice P. Holmstrom, 94, of Faulkton, passed away, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Boise, Idaho.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Bill Hoffman officiating. Burial followed in the Faulkton Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2011 with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Luce Funeral Home, Faulkton.
Eunice P. Stebbins was born November 23, 1917, to Emery and Emma (Schuett) Stebbins in Gettysburg, SD. She was raised north of Gettysburg until moving to the Lebanon area where she started school. The family then moved to Seneca where Eunice graduated from Seneca High School in 1935. Eunice continued her education at Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen receiving a B.S. in education. She spent the next 23 years teaching the area’s youth retiring in 1978.
On November 5, 1955, Eunice was united in marriage to Kenneth Holmstrom. They made their home in Faulkton. Eunice was a member of the United Church of Faulkton where she served with the Ladies Circle. She was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries for 60 years. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Senior Center.
Eunice’s life will be cherished by her daughters: Margaret Holmstrom (Larry Nowlin) of Boise, Idaho and Darleen (Hollis) Hall of Fairbanks, Alaska; three grandchildren: Christopher, Garrett and Keriann Olafson; three great grandchildren, IvyRose Fearn, Hadley and Adelyn Olafson, and her siblings: Glenn Stebbins of Faulkton and Pauline Liechti of Seneca.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: Lavern, Roy and Duane Stebbins; and one sister, Haydee Christensen.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Eunice’s arrangements.

Mom, I know it is hard to go day to day without grandma, but she is in a better place, she is happy and no longer in pain. You and I weren’t there with her when she passed, but as everyone tells me, if god wanted us there we would have been there. I just want you to know mom I’m always here for you. I love you very much!!
