Isaac Joseph Big Eagle came into our lives March 17, 1986.  Isaac “Ike” grew up in the Big Bend area, attending school at Harrold from kindergarten to eighth grade, Crow Creek Tribe Schools from ninth to twelfth grade, Kicking Horse Job Corp from 2005-2006 and obtained his G.E.D. at Lower Brule Community College in 2010.

Ike was a very outgoing and friendly young man.  He had a smile for everyone and was willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need.  Ike loved to go fishing and hunting, throwing horseshoes, playing basketball and video games and watching sports.  He wasn’t afraid to try new things, he did it all with a smile on his face.  Ike’s favorite Pro Teams were the New England Patriots, Detroit Tigers and the Boston Celtics.  Ike loved to watch movies, always waiting for new releases so he could add to his collection.  Ike also loved to dance; he had moves for every song or invented some.  He liked to sing along with his favorite songs and there were many.  The song, “Made in Japan” by Buck Owens was his favorite.

Ike was a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle and cousin.  He did his best to spend time with everyone, every chance he got.  He had a large extended family of many brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles.  Like his mom always said, “You are the Love of Our Lives” and you will be greatly missed by all of us.

Ike is survived by his mothers, Arlis Big Eagle, Mona Big Eagle and Audrey Surrounded; Geraldine Estes; brothers, Justin Wounded Knee, Gabe Pomani, Dennis Wounded Knee, Eric Big Eagle, Cory Chase, Tim Big Eagle, Jr., Nicholas Big Eagle and his look alike, Dakota Red Bear; sisters, Sarah Big Eagle and Latony Big Eagle; aunts, Durine Chase and family and Jeanette Marks and family; uncles, Don Big Eagle and family, Bernard Big Eagle and family, Tony Big Eagle and family, and Tom Big Eagle and family; grandmother, Martha (Henry) Mata and four cousins, Mona, Tona, Belinda and Henry, Jr.

Isaac left this earth with his dad, David Big Eagle and they now join their family in heaven.

Luze Funeral Home of Highmore has been entrusted with Isaac’s arrangements.
