Akepapi Carter, stillborn infant of Tonia Widow and Ferlin Carter, journeyed to the Spirit World on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Eagle Butte.
Funeral services were held at 12:00pm MDT, Saturday, October 6 at the home of Ed and Delma Widow at Ash Creek, SD. Byron Buffalo will officiate. Internment followed at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Red Scaffold under the direction of Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte.
Survivors include parents: Tonia Widow and Ferlin Carter of Eagle Butte; sisters: Shalynn, Jacine, Jordan, Kailey and Cassie; brother: Kasten; maternal grandparents: Marlis Afraid of Hawk of Dupree and the late Narcisse Widow; great grandparents: Danny and Angeline Afraid of Hawk, rural Cherry Creek and Edward and Delma Widow of Ash Creek; paternal grandparents: the late Vera Marrowbone and Bill Carter of Pennsylvania; great grandparents: Vivian and the late Ted Traversie of Eagle Butte and the late Whitley Marrowbone and Beatrice Clown.
Akepapi was preceded in death by a sister, Okilepi in 2000.
