Robby was born on August 1, 1974, the only son of Bob and Andria Robideau.  From the time Robby was little, he was a cowboy who loved horses and loved to ride.  Robby grew up with four sisters who cherished and loved him dearly.  He was the baby of the crew always.

He attended school in Swiftbird and Crow Creek while growing up.  Robby lived his entire life in the Swiftbird Community with his mother.

In 1995 his son, Shilo, was born.  Robby also raised his stepson Haiden, the son of Audra.  He was a great father to both of his sons.

Robby was a descendant of Dog’s Backbone and Blackmoon.  Since the age of 15, he was a part of annual rides to honor his ancestors in Wounded Knee and the Battle of the Little Big Horn.

Robby was a good ranch hand to local ranchers.  If he wasn’t working with horses or cows, he was busy working on cars and Shy or Ami’s truck.

Robby was the cowboy cook of his family, cooking up something any time of the day.  He had a crazy sense of humor and liked to tease all the kids.  He was always joking and laughing, being the prankster.

Robby was happily awaiting the birth of his granddaughter and would talk daily about being LaLa.  He cherished spending time with Bailey, of whom he was very protective.

Robby had many friends, whose hearts he touched.  He will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.

Robby is survived by his longtime companion, Audra Hill of LaPlant; sons: Shilo Robideau of Swiftbird and Haiden Keynon of LaPlant; mother, Andria Robideau of Swiftbird; Hunka’ Unci’s: Madonna Thunder Hawk and Mable Ann Phillips, both of Wagner; step-mother, Pilar Campost Robideau of Spain; sisters: Karla Kingman of Aberdeen, Lisa Skye of Swiftbird, Dallas Skye of Aberdeen and Ami Robideau of Swiftbird; many aunts and uncles from Portland; nieces and nephews from Swiftbird; and many others we may have forgotten.

Robby was preceded in death by his father Bob Robideau; uncles, Andrew Mound & Wayne Kingman; paternal grandparents, Bill and Evonne (Lavandere) Robideau; and maternal grandparents, Andrew and Minnie (Blackmoon) Kingman.

Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Robert's arrangements.

  3. My deepest sympathy goes out to Robbie, all family, extented family and friends who’s life he had touched. I know the pain is deep for all. The loss of a child/brother/father/uncle/grandfather is too overwhelming to bare at times, but be strong. My prayers go out to all for continued strength.
