Dolorous Muth

Dolorous Muth, 104, of Sturgis and formerly of St. Lawrence, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care in Sturgis, SD.
Memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Reck Funeral Home, Miller with Pastor Scot Tutt officiating. Inurnment followed at the St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Dolorous Dehart was born to Ida and Ora (Ray) Dehart near Sullivan, IL on April 8, 1908. She moved to St. Lawrence, SD with her parents in 1918 where she lived and went through school. She married George Muth and raised two children, Ray and Bettylou. Dolorous and George moved to Rapid City in 1958 to be close to George’s trucking. After her husband’s death in 1990 she moved to Sturgis to be near her son, Ray.
Dolorous is survived by her son, Ray Muth, Gillette, WY; her daughter, Bettylou Carter, Venice, FL; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her dear friends, Virginia and Bud Stearns; special nieces: Althea Augspurger, Kathy Jacobson, and Helen Wilbourne; and nephew, James Kramer.
Preceding her in death are her parents; step-mother, Anna; sisters: Opal Ross and Goldie Dehart; daughter-in-law, Gwen (Southworth) Muth; three grandsons; infant granddaughter; two great grandsons; and niece.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Dolorous’ arrangements.
