Karla Sue Kingman was born November 18, 1960 to Andria Robideau and John Lind at IHS Hospital in Eagle Butte, South Dakota.

She attended school at Eagle Butte from headstart to graduation in May 1978.  She worked various jobs in Eagle Butte until starting Nursing School at Presentation College Satellite Branch in Eagle Butte.  She dropped out of school to care for her son Randy Shaving after the death of his father from a car accident.  Karla was a single parent raising her children Randy, Samantha and Mariah.  Moving to Aberdeen, South Dakota in January 1996, she started her employment at Midcom that same year and worked there until the birth of her first precious grandson Jaeden Shaving in 1999.  She then started working at Wyndham Worldwide where she was a valued employee who continuously excelled in her position until her illness required her early retirement.

In Karla's personal life she had many loves.  Her children Randy, Sam and Mariah; and her grandchildren being number one.  She spent all summer, wearing the dresses and hats that she was well known for and rummaging with her partner in crime Denise Zahn.  She enjoyed puzzles and sharing movies and treats with her grandchildren during the cold months.  She loved to hang out in her room with her family and friends sharing stories and good times for which we will all remember and cherish her by.  March Madness College Basketball always entertained her, always rooting for Randy's favorite team.  Karla was a natural "green thumb" and could bring a plant back like no one else could.

She enjoyed her mother's cooking, things always tasted better when she made them.  Her daughters Sam and Mariah always provided her with a warm hug and a good laugh.  Karla was a good friend, always willing to help others in need and surrounded herself with a great group of girlfriends who brought her lots of joy.  Ruth Miller was especially important to the family and Karla was always grateful for her role in their lives.

Karla was an extremely dedicated mother.  She gave her heart to Jesus which gave her comfort during her long and very courageous battle with cancer.

She will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Karla’s life will be remembered by her mother, Andria Robideau of Swiftbird; her children: Randy (Emily) Shaving and their children Jaeden, Isaiah, Ryder, and Poppy (Miss Sis), Samantha LeBeau and Mariah LeBeau all of Aberdeen; sisters: Lisa Skye, Dallas Skye, and Ami Robideau and many close cousins and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Andrew and Minnie Kingman; paternal grandparents, Lars and Irene Lind of Whitehorse and Lawrence Shaving Sr. of  LaPlant; her father, John Lind of Eagle Butte; little brother, Robert Robideau Jr. of Swiftbird; love of her life, Lawrence Shaving Jr. of LaPlant and many special uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Karla’s arrangements.
