Brian Eldeen, 55, of Denison, IA and formerly of Gettysburg passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Crawford County Hospital in Denison, IA from complications of the heart.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Luce Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Pastor Jeff Adel presiding. Burial followed in the Gettysburg Cemetery.

Brian Edmund Eldeen was born on December 23, 1957 in Hoven, South Dakota to Delmar and Rosaland (Deck) Eldeen. He grew up and went to school in Gettysburg, South Dakota.  Throughout his life he worked at various jobs as a farmhand, construction worker and truck driver ending up in Denison, Iowa where he remained until his death.

He is survived by his mother, Rosaland Eldeen of Gettysburg; his four children: Shaun Eldeen and special friend April of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Sunshine Eldeen and fiancé, Keith Durrant of Battle Creek, MI, Steven Eldeen of Aberdeen, and Vicky (Scott) Diede of Jamestown, ND; one granddaughter, Cloe Eldeen; five siblings: Phil (Kay) Eldeen of Lolo, MT, Bill (Linda) Eldeen of Howard, SD, Sue Eldeen of Pierre, SD, Barry (LuAnn) Eldeen of Mitchell, SD and Tami (Troy) Olsen of Pierre, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delmar Eldeen and both sets of grandparents.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Brian’s arrangements.

  1. Brian was a dear friend and although I haven’t spoken to him in years, those memories are as fresh as yesterday. Shaun, Steve, Sunny, Roseland, Phil, Bill, Susan, Barry and Tami you have my prayers.

  2. WE will miss Brian so much! We were apaertment managers where he lived in Denison and his friends. He was so funny and fun to be around. Adam is really sad, Brian was the first friend he made here and he really enjoyed spending time with him talking about everything…..Now theres an angel watching over us. So sorry to his whole family, I only met Shaun, but I know he has other children as well. He was anawesome guy and will be greatly missed here in Denison!
