Carolyn Morris

Carolyn Marie Morris, 80, of Highmore, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at her home in Highmore surrounded by her family.

Visitation was held in Florence, Mississippi and burial followed at Floral Hill Memory Gardens in Pearl, Mississippi.

Carolyn Marie was born November 14, 1933 to Andrew Phillip and Lola Frances (Lowe) Woods in Minter City, Mississippi. She attended school in Raleigh, Mississippi. She married Willie J. Norton, Jr. in 1949. They later divorced and she married Bill Morris on January 12, 1979 in Jackson, Mississippi. She lived in California, Mississippi and South Dakota. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and traveling.

Grateful to have shared in her life were her children: Bruce Norton, Stan Norton, Lola Jane Edwards, and Ramona Norton; step-children: PJ (Jo) Woldt, Don (Missy) Morris, Ray (Lisa) Wilkett, Alva (Amy) Morris, and Emily (Joe) Byrd; grandchildren: Frances (Harlan) Reed, Jennifer Spratley, Heather Norton, William Edwards, Karri (Isaac) Rosenbloom, James Norton, Kyrstle Norton, Kelly Bowen, Sara Bowen, Johnathan Bowen, Madison Byrd, Zackary Byrd, Tymber Morris, Tristen Morris, Jessica Woldt, Stacy Woldt, Amber Woldt, Bowdry Morris, Destrie Morris and Sabrah Morris; and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Phillips and Lola Frances Wood; daughter, Valerie Marie Norton; granddaughter, Monique Norton; sisters: Ella and Betty; brother, Billie and husband, Bill Morris.
