Floyd Edwin Lerew, 66, of St. James, Missouri and formerly of Sioux Falls and Cresbard passed away, Tuesday, October 28, 2008 as the result of an automobile accident, near St. James, MO.
Visitation was held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Luce Funeral Home in Faulkton. Graveside services were at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 4 at the Cresbard Cemetery with Pastor Julie Nygaard officiating.
Ed or Eddie, as most knew him, was born on July 26th, 1942 in Cresbard, South Dakota to Floyd Lerew and Mary (Freeman) Lerew. He resided and worked on the family farm in Cresbard until he was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War in March of 1966. He served in the US Army as a heavy machinery operator until his honorable discharge in March of 1968.
Floyd worked a wide variety of occupations, mostly mechanical, but maintained farming as a hobby throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and working with his hands. He retired in 2005 at the age of 63.
He is survived by: daughter, Annette Lerew; son, Todd Lerew; ex-wife, Yvonne Lerew; sisters, Naomi Hildreth, Dolores (Neal) Kukla, Sally (Ronnie) Snow, and Patty (Ron) Horstman; and son, Daniel Lerew.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Floyd's arrangements.
