Sharon Yost, 69, of Miller, died Thursday, December 2 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 6 at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 5 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service all at Rembold Funeral Home. Burial will be at G.A.R. Cemetery.

Sharon Marie Peterson was born October 10, 1941, in Viborg, South Dakota, to Wesley and Doris Peterson. She grew up and attended school in Viborg graduating from Viborg High School. After high school, Sharon attended Stewarts School of Hairstyling. In 1959, Sharon moved to Miller to work at Idas Beauty Salon. While in Miller, she met Neil Yost.

On October 17, 1960, she married Neil and they farmed and ranched in South Hand County for 20 years. Sharon and Neil moved to Miller in 1985 where Sharon worked at the Good Samaritan Center for 12 years.

Sharon enjoyed playing cards, dancing, camping, and most of all spending time with her family.

Sharon is survived by her husband Neil of Miller; a son, David (Joyce) Yost of Huron; a daughter, Deanne (Alan) Steinke of Colome; five grandchildren, Gerry Shaw, Eric Shaw, Clint Hall, Jesse (Angela) Hall, and Shane Yost; her mother, Doris Peterson of Viborg; a brother, Pete (Phyllis) Peterson of Webster City, Iowa; four sisters, Roberta (Curtis) Rassmussen of Viborg, Char (Dick) Sorum of Renner, Elaine (Mark) Johnson of Sioux Falls, and Paulette (Glen) Hanson of Gilbert, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Lois Yost and Dee (Larry) Danburg; one brother-in-law, Jerry (Sharon) Yost; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wesley G. Peterson.
