Brad Fernholz, 32, of Portage, Wisconsin, formerly of Wessington, died Sunday, April 25th at his home in Wisconsin. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 1 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Wessington with Fr. Chester Murtha officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 30 from 5-7 p.m. at Rembold Funeral Home in St. Lawrence with a 7 p.m. scripture service. Burial will be at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery, Wessington.
Brad Anthony Fernholz was born September 14, 1977 to Larry A. and Marilyn D. (Parmely) Fernholz in Huron, S.D. He attended all 12 years of school in Wessington graduating from Wessington High School in 1996. Brad attended Mitchell Vo Tech and graduated with a degree in electrical construction.
He worked as an electrician in Sioux Falls and Portage with a lot of his work being done in Madison, Wis.
Brad was a natural athlete who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He liked watching sports on T.V. and would root for the Minnesota Twins and Chicago Bears.
Survivors include his father, Larry A. (Cindy Jo) Fernholz of Wessington; mother, Niece (Dennis) Koss of Portage, Wisc.; brothers, Kelly (Shawn) Fernholz of Miller, Chad (Jenny) Fernholz of Harrisburg, Daniel Fernholz of Portage; daughter, Kylee of Pardeeville, Wis.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anthony H. and Mildred Fernholz, and Leo and Velma Parmely.
