Harriet A. Sisk, 79, of Miller, SD, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held per her request.
Harriet was born to Carl and Elsie (Engelmann) Winsell on December 16, 1933 and was raised at Spring Lake in South Hand County. Harriet graduated from Miller High School in 1951 and St. John?s School of Nursing in 1954. She worked clinic nursing jobs and gave superb care to many family members in their times of illness.
Harriet, and daughter Russ Ann, married Clayton ?Tip? Sisk February 17, 1962; daughter Carla Marie was born in 1964. Harriet?s dazzling smile and sense for fun created fabulous memories for family and friends. Recounting a story or two was part of her persona.
Harriet is survived by Russ Ann Sisk and husband Brad Talbert of Hot Springs, SD (formerly of Helena, MT); Carla Sturn and husband Ron, and sons Jon and Ken all of East Helena, MT; sister Elaine Roeber of Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Carl, husband Tip, brother Rick Winsell and sister Phyllis Resel.
Memorials may be directed to the Miller Fire Department, Northern Plains Hospice Miller Site, or your choice.

My deepest sympathy in your loss of your mom. We had a lot of laughs and many memories through the years…. Sitting at the kitchen table late at night laughing with Harriet is just one of them. She is happy now reunited with Tip. Love ya Bunches! Karen

Was saddened to hear of Harriets passing, always enjoyed going into her shop and visiting with her. Prayers go out to her family.
We are so sorry for your loss. I worked with Harriet (as nurses) at the Hand County Memorial Hospital in the early 1960’s. She was a wonderful nurse & friend. Have always stayed in touch with her over the years. She will be missed, but I know she will continue to care for those in heaven. Deepest sympathy. Dixie Enger

Dear Carla and Russ, I?m so so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I remember the summers in Miller. Playing with Carla and staying at the house. As a young girl I thought of Harriett as a Movie Star She had it all….looks, voice and curves too! Thank you Harriet for making memories for me! You will be missed.
