Lenny Joseph Roth, 79, of St. Lawrence, SD died Thursday August 28, at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 2 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Miller with Fr. Chester Murtha officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in Miller. 

Lenny was born on March 23, 1935 in Parkston, SD to Fred John Roth and Agnes Regina Roeder. As a boy, Lenny lived at home with his family in Parkston. The family moved to Miller in 1947, where they operated Roth Produce until 1971. Lenny joined the United States Marine Corp on June 9, 1953, and served in Korea. Lenny served his country until he was honorably discharged on June 8, 1956.

On June 24, 1958, Lenny married Donna Joann Wherry in Orient, SD. They were blessed with three children, David, Kim, and DeAnn.

Lenny worked at Coop in Miller until its closing. Lenny then worked as a CNA at Prairie Good Samaritan Center for 23 years until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Donna, children David (Deb Evans) Roth, Kim Roth, DeAnn (Todd) Beckett, his grandchildren Kristen Roth, Dani, Lacey, Cassie, and Karly Beckett, and Heidi Roth, and his great grandchildren Eric, Andre, and Caden.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Agnes Roth, his sister Mary Ann Roth, and his granddaughter Ashley Roth.
