John enjoyed going to rodeos, bull ridings, car races, bowling, dancing and playing cards. John served on the township board for many years. He was also a 4-H leader for a while.
Survivors include his wife Ellen, of Highmore; children, Bonnie (David) Ping of Highmore, Larry (special friend Lori) Bawdon of Highmore, Julie (Andrew) Canham of Miller; sister, Pearl Dittman of Miller; grandchildren, Travis (Katherine) Ping, Lacey (Jason) Roberts, Matt Bawdon, Jessica (Nick) Berndt, Alora (Jesse) Weinrich, Riley and Carter Canham; great grandchildren, Talon and Lainee Ping, Brooklyn and Aylah Roberts, Eli Weinrich; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
