Edith Wilson, 87, of Miller, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Beverly Golden Living Center in Madison.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miller with Rev. Robert Ohnstad officiating. Burial was in G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at Reck Funeral Home in Miller.

Edith was born January 17, 1921 to Kristian and Kristina (Olson) Johnson in Kimball, South Dakota. She attended Brule County Public School and later Kimball School. After school she moved to California to help her sisters with their families. In 1947, she moved back to Hand County, South Dakota. On October 24, 1949 she married Marvin E. Wilson in Pierre, South Dakota and later had three children: Patricia, Michael and Marva. They farmed around the St. Lawrence Area and later moved to Miller in 1959. Edith worked at the Melhaff Grocery Store and later Tucker’s Supervalu for many years. Marvin and Edith moved to the Mitchell/Parkston area for some time before moving back to Miller where they retired. In 1998, Edith moved into the Courtyard Villa and in August of 2008, she moved to the Beverly Golden Living Center in Madison.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. She enjoyed Bingo, coffee, lefse and the Minnesota Twins.

Edith is survived by her children: Patricia A. (Joe Norton) Wilson of St. Joseph, MO, Michael  E. (Debra) Wilson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Marva G. (Norm) Jerke of Madison, SD; grandchildren: Jessica, Amber, Ashley, and Ben; great grandchild: Milo; three sisters: Eleanor Schadi of Redwood City, CA, Alice Campbell of Miller, SD and Bernice (Don) Holley of Miller, SD; a niece, Dorothy Campbell of Washington.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and several brother and sisters.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Edith's arrangements.
