Elijah White Magpie

Elijah J. White Magpie, 23, of Minnehaha County, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., MST, Monday, November 16, 2015 at the UCC Church, Cherry Creek with Rev. Mike Kills Pretty Enemy and Merle Beachy officiating. Burial followed in the UCC Cemetery, Cherry Creek. Wake services began at 7:00 p.m., MST, Sunday, November 15, at the UCC Church with a procession from the top of the hill at 11:00 a.m.
Elijah Julius White Magpie was born June 3, 1992 to Wendell Paul White Magpie Sr. of Cherry Creek, SD and Julia Long Feather of Fort Yates, ND. In his early years he lived in Cherry Creek along with his siblings and many relatives. He attended Cherry Creek Head Start and graduated in May 1999. He attended school at Harrisburg, SD, where he made tons of friends and the teachers enjoyed him. He had a way of making people laugh and smile and could turn a frown upside down. He loved horses, Soldier and Fire. He love adventure, outdoors, nicknaming everyone and everything who came into his life. Eli always had a kind, strong, sharing, caring, loving, respectable heart and soul. He put others before himself. He always had an open shoulder for comfort no matter who you were. Eli loved to attend Sunday school as he had many friends there as well. Eli had a hobby of drawing. It didn’t matter where he was or who was there, when he saw the opportunity he would draw. Elijah had many family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Elijah is survived by his parents: Wendell White Magpie, Sr. and Julia Long Feather (Little Moon); sisters: Phoebe of Webster SD, Paulette of Mobridge SD, Sarah of McLaughlin SD, Melissa and Jon Long Soldier of Dupree SD, Eva and Gwendolyn of Cherry Creek SD, little brother Milton of Mobridge SD, Wendell Jr. of Aberdeen SD, Terrance of Cherry Creek SD, nephews: Lyle “Sonny” Simon Jr., Avri Bloom, Jaden Long Soldier, nieces: Brooklyn Seibel and Jordyn White Magpie and plenty of aunties and uncles.
Elijah was preceded in death by his grandma Amelia Long Feather, grandpa Elijah White Magpie, grandma Bernita, uncle Julius Dawson, auntie Twyla, auntie Delphine and Twyla Black Bear. You will remain forever loved and in our hearts.
