Janice Bartlett
October 19, 1957 ~ January 4, 2016
Janice L. Bartlett, 58, of Gettysburg, passed away January 4, 2016 at Avera Gettysburg Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the United Methodist Church, Blunt with Pastor Kori Lehrkamp presiding. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blunt. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Janice Lea Bartlett was born October 19, 1957 to Donald “Bart” and Florence (Uecker) Bartlett at St. Mary's Hospital, Pierre, SD.
Her childhood was spent in Hughes and Stanley counties. She went to elementary school in Fort Pierre, SD until she transferred to the Crippled Children's School in Sioux Falls, SD where she graduated from High School.
At the time of her death, her home was with her mother and sister, Nancy, at Bob's Resort near Gettysburg.
Though she was physically handicapped and often in pain, she was involved in crafts, mainly beadwork and crocheting, but oil painting was her talent and she sold many pieces of art on canvas, saws and wood. She also loved to do puzzles and she especially liked her computer and kept in touch with family and friends.
Janice is survived by her mother, Florence Bartlett of Gettysburg; sisters: Nancy Bartlett of Gettysburg and Janet Bartlett of Blunt; brothers: Mike Bartlett of Oklahoma and Kirby (Susan) Bartlett of Kansas; nephews: Brett and Bart Bartlett; niece, Anita Bartlett; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Don “Bart” Bartlett; her grandparents: Amos and Alice Bartlett and Charles and Polly Uecker.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Janice’s arrangements.

Florence we are so sorry to hear of Janice’s passing. She has struggled for so long but always seemed to have a positive outlook. She was always an inspiration to me given her disabilities. I will miss seeing Janice and I am thankful for having known her. The pain and personnel struggles are now gone forever. Doug and Myra

Sorry to hear of Janice’s passing… I was a high school friend,,, and we have written to eachother on the computer.. And I have 2 of her paintings on saw blades… She was very talented!!! She will be missed… Jeff Seitz
