Robert L. Blasdell, 70, of Miller, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Robert was born December 28, 1945 at Holabird, South Dakota to Henry “Hank” and Rozina “Rose” (Flosom) Blasdell.  He attended school in Holabird before graduating from Highmore High School in 1965.  In September of 1965, he married Leann Fraizer at the Methodist Church in Miller.  To this union, a son and daughter were born: Robert, II and Krissa.  Robert enlisted into the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged.

Throughout Robert’s life, he worked for Thiel’s Body Shop, Roger Hines Construction, Wilbur’s Feed and Seed, and later retiring from Miller Feed and Seed.  In his retirement, he drove semi for various farmers, helped Brad Manning, Kroeplin Ag/Wilbur Ellis, and Dollar General.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed socializing and visit with everyone, fishing, and driving around.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids; and watching his grandson, Tre, race.

Survivors include his two children; Robert, II (Camie) Blasdell of Miller and Krissa Blasdell of Miller; four grandchildren; Cole, Lucas, Tre (Megan Timm), and Taica; one great grandson, Jase Michael; and siblings: Karen Price of Washington, Donna (Eddie) Burnell of Iowa, and Tommy (Renae) Blasdell of Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers: James, Darrell, and David Blasdell.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Robert’s arrangements.

I will never forget when he traveled from Miller to Oregon with a 25 pound smoked turkey. Yes he carried it on the plane as a carry on item. Thank you for my memories and smiles you shared with me!
