Renata Reimer was born June 12, 1927 to Ed C. and Paulina Reimer on their homestead about 7 miles northwest of Artas, SD. She was raised in a sod house and attended country school through the 8th grade. She continued her high school education at the Northwestern Lutheran Academy in Mobridge, SD. Renata married Peter Ochsner from Herreid, SD in 1945. The couple moved to a farm south of Cresbard and east of Faulkton where they raised a family and continued farming until they retired in 1984. In 1993 they moved to Faulkton where they lived for 14 years. Ronnie was well known as a hard worker, a faithful wife and mother who was her husband’s right hand helper on the family farm. She participated in church activities such as Sunday school teacher, ladies aid officer, and choir member. She was famous for her mission festival hot dishes and work contributions. She had a natural talent for organization and her housekeeping skills were a source of pride for Ronnie. Her kuchen and caramel rolls are fondly remembered as family staples during holidays and special events. She kept a large garden and thoroughly enjoyed canning her garden produce. Ronnie loved being sociable enjoying games, cards, and puzzles. Health issues required Renata and Peter to move to Aberdeen in 2007.
Grateful for having shared Renata’s life are her children David (Gloria) Ochsner of Brandon, SD, Roger (Maureen) Ochsner of Brooklyn Park, MN, Jerald (Betty) Ochsner of Aberdeen, SD, Sandra (Gary) Weismantel of Herreid, SD; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and one sister, Verna Ochsner of Ipswich, SD.
Renata is preceded in death by her husband, Peter; parents; and three brothers, Ferdinand, Walter, and Richard.
Memorials will be forwarded to the Zion Lutheran Church of Ipswich, SD or to the Bethesda Nursing Home in Aberdeen, SD.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Renata’s arrangements.

My sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Renata. The loss of our dear loved ones can be very difficult and distressing to cope with. It has helped myself and others when we remember that they now safely rest in the loving memory of our Grand Creator, waiting for the fulfillment of His promised purpose. Also, may your own good and loving memories of Renata help to soothe your hearts. Sincerely ( Revelation 21 : 3-5; Acts 24 : 15; Psalms 37 : 11, 34 )
We will miss you together, God religion and God bless his humble followers.
