Erla Nicholas, 79, of Miller, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Salem.

Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, Miller with Rev. Brian Jones officiating.  Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Miller.  Visitation began one hour prior to the funeral service.

Erla was born March 10, 1937 in Miller to Charles and Clara (Stevens) Arbogast. She grew up and attended school in Miller, graduating in 1956.

On August 15, 1956, she married Roger Nicholas in Miller. They moved to Missoula, MT and lived in the area for 12 years, where they started their family and formed everlasting memories and friendships. They lived a short time in Spearfish, SD; however, Miller continued to be the place they would return to and always referred to as “home”. Erla continued to reside in Miller after the death of her husband.

Erla loved crafting and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Miller.

Survivors include her son, Randy (Jeanette) of Belle Fourche, SD; two daughters, Debbra (David) Olson of Sheridan, WY; and Lanett (Brad) Buche of Mitchell, SD; grandchildren: Trevor and Bryce Nicholas; Ryan and Kolbi Olson; and Mallory Buche-Arneson and Rachel Buche-Vogel; one greatgrandchild, Ensley Arneson; one sister, Avis; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and husband.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Erla’s arrangements.

Roger use to work for Jimmie & Bub and we always stayed in contact with Erla after Roger passed. She was a wonderful person and I just want you to know how much they meant to us.
