Sharon Briscoe, 70, of Gettysburg passed away, Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Avera Gettysburg Hospital in the presence of family.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gettysburg with Father Jerry Kopel officiating. Burial followed at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Gettysburg. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the church with visitation one hour prior.

Sharon was born February 24, 1946 in Mobridge, SD to A.G. "Pete" and Lucille (Egland) Henry. She graduated from Lemmon High School in 1964 followed up by a year at Northern State University before graduating from Stewart School of Cosmetology in 1966. In October 1967 she married Jim Briscoe in Lemmon, SD before moving to Gettysburg, SD.

Sharon worked as a hairdresser at Arnie's in Gettysburg for 3 years before being occupied as a full-time farm wife and mother-of-all-trades. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was part of the Prayer Shawl Committee at church. She loved to cook, bake, and garden while doing puzzles and playing games with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children: Ann (Jeff) Norden, Kevin Briscoe, Cathy (Chris) Retterath, Karen Briscoe, and Mike Briscoe; grandchildren: Hayden and Audrey Retterath; her brother, Richard; cousins: Father Don Willette and Marla (Jim) Attwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Lucille; her brother, Raymond; brother-in-law, John; and sister-in-law, Carolyn.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Sharon’s arrangements.

A Visitation was held on November 3, 2016 at 6:30 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 203 E. Garfield Ave in Gettysburg, South Dakota 57442
