John Arland, 60, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, assisted by Jodi from Avera at Home.

Fellowship and Celebrating John’s Life was held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Miller Community Center Banquet Room. The family invites everyone to come and go as they wish. Food and refreshments will be served.

John was born October 25, 1956 in Torrington Wyoming, to Orville A. and Ida M. (Morgan) Arland. He married Cindy Speirs on May 23, 1981 at the First United Methodist Church in Miller.

John was a talented musician and played music professionally with lots of talented musicians. He loved camping. fishing, hunting, working on classic cars, and going to car shows with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Miller; daughter, Samantha (William) Siebert, Jamestown ND; sons: Keith (Amanda Mees) Arland of Huron; Cody (Alex) Burroughs, NV, and Kelly Burroughs, NV; four grandchildren: Chase, Chandler, Brayden and Abby; three brothers: Ron Arland, Tom Arland, and Bill (Marlyn) Arland; one sister, Barb (Ray) Sawdy all of Wy; brothers-in-law: Dennis (Teri) Lyftoght, Steve (Ladonna) Speirs, Bill Speirs, and Kevin (Lori) Speirs; sister in-law, Fran Blair; nephews: Montie (Shannon) Clutter, Jeff (Diana) Clutter, and Joe Koeck; nieces: Tammy (Jason) Ashton, and Sandi Yates; and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Orville and Ida Arland; parents-in-law, Keith and Geri Speirs; grandmother-in-law, Alice Timm; sister, Bonnie Wilson; and niece, Tara Koeck.

John and his beloved dog Sinja will be returned to Wyoming for a family service.

Special thanks to Dr Santos, the Avera Home Dialysis staff and the staff Avera McKennan for the excellent care during his long illness.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with John’s arrangement.

A Family and Friends Gathering was held on January 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Miller Community Center, 526 North Broadway Avenue in Miller, South Dakota 57362
