Duane was born on August 9, 1934 in Miller, SD to Lee DeMoss and Laura (Rice) Robison. Duane attended country school in Mondamin Township and graduated from Miller High School in 1952. Upon graduating high school, Duane took over the family farm as his father died suddenly during Duane's senior year. In 1962, Duane married Darlene Willman in Miller. They lived on the family farm until 2004 when they retired and built a home in Miller. To this union, 3 children were born.

Duane was an active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church as well as numerous organizations, including Knights of Columbus, Mondamin Township Board, and the Miller School Board. He was also a member of the Friendship Center where he had numerous hours of enjoyment playing pool with his buddies. He especially enjoyed the times when his granddaughter, Trinity, would say "Grandpa, let's go for a ride" (code for let's just you and me sneak to the convenience store for a treat).

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Darlene of Miller; one daughter, Linda (Brian McManus) of Sioux Falls; two sons: Brian of Miller and Bruce (Rita) of Kimball; grandchildren: Trinity Robison, Tristan Konechne, and Sean and Shania McManus; special children who loved to call him "Grandpa": Meredith and Madeline Molseed, Jessie Coyle, and Knox Kelsey; sisters-in-law, Betty (Keith) Gunderson, and Gayle Willman; brother-in-law, Jim Willman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dwight; and his sister, Margaret.

The family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation for the excellent care and friendship received from Dr. Michelle Turner as well as CNP Karen Runge.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Duane’s arrangements.
