Your mother is always with you… She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She’s the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered socks. She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not well. Your mother lives inside your laughter. She’s crystallized in every tear drop… She’s the place you came from, your first home.. She’s the map you follow with every step that you take. She’s your first love and your first heart break….and nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, Not space… Not even death…. will ever separate you from your mother…. You carry her inside of you…. So sorry for your loss.
Oh how I loved my Aunt Marlene! She was one fiesty lady and I loved that about her! I always stopped to see her when I was home and we had a lot of great laughs! Never a dull moment with her! I can only imagine the reunion of the entire family in heaven! Grandpa, Grandma, Eileen, Marlene and mom and dad are together again! May God wrap you all in his loving arms as you go through this sad time. I can say from experience that it is not easy. Take it one day at a time and let God carry you. Sending my love. I am so sorry that I can not make it back for the service. Know that I am with you in my heart. Love, Lisa
Sorry for your loss.
I enjoyed getting to know Marlene at the Courthouse and when we both worked at the VFW. We also enjoyed sharing garden produce with her when she lived in the apartment close to us. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out! Cherish the memories as I will!

A mother holds her child’s hand for a short while and their hearts forever. As a childhood neighbor of the Kern family I was able to know Marlene from a unique perspective. She is someone I will always remember and respect. Hold on to the good memories. Mark and Tamara (Tam) Arneson
