Dennis Bloomenrader

Dennis Bloomenrader, 78, of Highmore, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Highmore Health in Highmore.
Dennis will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
On April 16, 1940, Dennis was born in Pierre, South Dakota to Leon and Virginia (Hartshorn) Bloomenrader. He attended high school, later enlisting in military service. He served during Vietnam War, being stationed at Cam Rahn Bay in Vietnam. He was honorably discharge in 1965. On July 30, 1966, he married Carla Goodrich. He worked for Schimkat Construction in Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota. In 1972, he returned to the home ranch and partnered with his parents to make a life of ranching and farming.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA, American Legion, and VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He loved his family and beagle dogs, and hanging out at the cabin in the Black Hills.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Carla of Highmore; children: Charlie (Stephanie) Bloomenrader and children: Jordan, Deonna, Brenna and Jharett, all of Highmore; Dena (Jim) Brady and children: Jessica, Nathen, Rachel, and Zach, all of Vermillion; and Cody Bloomenrader and daughter, Katie, of Sequim, WA; great grandson, Linkin; brothers: Bret and Scott Bloomenrader; and sisters: Judy Blair and Ricki Bloomenrader.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Virginia; and grandmother, Louise Hartshorn.

I am so sad to hear that Dennis passed away. We had such good times in high school and that seems like just yesterday! I know he will be missed

So sorry for the loss guys. Lots of memories hanging at the Bloomenrader house. Denny being responsible for my love of tobasco sauce is one of the things that remind me of him often. Prayers are with you all
