Thelda Harmon
August 26, 1924 ~ February 28, 2010
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Cresbard with Pastor Julie Nygaard officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Cresbard Cemetery.
Thelda was born August 26, 1924 in Sioux Falls, SD and adopted later by Elmer and Lenora (Paepke) Date of Aberdeen, SD. She attended school in Aberdeen.
On November 23, 1940, Thelda married Lloyd Harmon at Miller, SD. They began their new life together on a farm near Chelsea.
Thelda was a homemaker and active with the Ladies Aid, Mother’s Day Tea and other community functions. She enjoyed reminiscing with close friends and family. She was known by everyone as a caring, generous and giving person. Many times Thelda took in those in need and gave them special care. They especially enjoyed her cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Harmon of Cresbard; daughter, Marilyn (Tom) Niedjelski of Mantorville, MN; son, Dennis (Dennise) Harmon of Chelsea, SD; four grandchildren: Pat (Bob) Breeding, Mike (Amy) Harmon, NaLani (Rick) Dunsmore and Joel Niedjelski and four great grandchildren: Jordon Breeding, Alyssa Harmon, NaLea and Chase Dunsmore.
Thelda was preceded in death by two sons, James on August 10, 1969 and Larry on January 25, 1975.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Thelda’s arrangements.
