She was born August 14, 1919 on a farm near Orient, SD to Ben and Rose (Jurries) Pittman. She attended Orient School and graduated on May 20, 1937.
Curly married Harold “Gabby” Gebhart on June 21, 1943 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Orient. She worked as the Faulk County Deputy Register of Deeds and Deputy Treasurer during this time. After moving to Gettysburg in 1947, she was a homemaker and, together with her husband, raised four children. She was active in her children’s lives and in her faith. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and extended family. Curly worked for Federal Corp Insurance for many years after her children were in high school. Later in life she enjoyed traveling with her husband, family, and friends and spoiling her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was a pillar of the family and always remembered all of the birthdays and anniversaries. She never lost her witty sense of humor.
