Patrick A. Venjohn, Sr., 58, of Mesa, AZ and formerly of Polo, SD, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 in Mesa, Arizona.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2010 at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Polo with Father Benjamin Aguilar, O. Carm. and Father Chester Murtha officiating. Burial followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Polo. A wake service was held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2010 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Miller.
Patrick Allen Venjohn was born in Faulkton, South Dakota on December 5, 1951 to Wilbur and Dorine (Schaefers) Venjohn. He was an avid Sportsman and highly regarded salesman, father, grandfather & friend. His grandchildren meant the world to him.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Debbie of Mesa, AZ; son, Patrick (Marianne) & children, Vanessa & Rebecca of Queen Creek, AZ, daughter, Jil (Mark) Schulte & children: Reece, Tate, Faith, Carter & Spencer of Orient, SD, mother in law, Ida Moser of Miller, SD, sisters: Marilyn Hanson of Bismarck, ND, Cil (Les) Larson of Miller, SD, Phyllis (Gary) Yearous, Miller, SD, Diane (Leo) Woster, North Pole, Alaska; brothers: Roger (Lora) Venjohn, Vayland, SD, Ron (Kathy) Venjohn, Grand Forks, ND, Gary Venjohn, Mesa, AZ, Jim (Nina) Venjohn, Casper, WY, Ray (Yuri) Venjohn, Bismarck, N.D., Dan (Vicki) Venjohn, Casper WY, David (Kelly) Venjohn, Robin, IA; brothers-in-law: Henry (Debbie) Moser, Canton, SD, Bob (Lynette) Moser, Rapid City, SD, Vince (Lona) Moser, Huron, SD, Mic Moser, Gillette, WY, and many nieces and nephews and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur & Dorine Venjohn and father-in-law, Robert (Bud) Moser.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Patrick’s arrangements.

We were shocked and very saddened to receive the phone call from Cal telling us of Pat’s death. Many, many hearts are breaking along with yours.
We have such fond memories of the visits with you, Pat and your family on our trips to Arizona! He was a great guy and will be missed by many.

I just want you to know how sad I feel on hearing of Pat’s death. I remember Pat as always having a great since of humor and ready with a smile evertime I saw him. I am sure he is smiling with our sweet Jesus.
