Margaret E. Kornmann, 84, of Rapid City passed away, Friday, August 28, 2020 at Good Samaritan Center, Miller.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Margaret “Margie” Kornmann was born March 15, 1936 in Carmi, IL to Jacob and Mary (Werle) Kleemann. She received a nursing degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. On August 30, 1960, she was united in marriage to Dennis “Bud” Kornmann. They made their homes in Lead, Mobridge and Rapid City. Margie worked as a registered nurse at the Mobridge Regional Hospital and Mobridge Medical Clinic until her retirement. The last 20 years Margie and Bud lived in Rapid City.

In her spare time, Margie loved to sew, knit, cross stitch, read and garden. She was an excellent seamstress and loved doing counted cross stitch and knitting projects for family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Dennis; five children: Dan (Patti), Littleton, CO, Deb (Barry) Dufour, Pierre, SD, Ross (Kristi), Rapid City, SD, Todd, Stillwater, MN, Mary (Gordy) Smith, Deadwood SD; grandchildren: Joshua Kornmann, Tyler Kornmann, Ryan (Aimee) Dufour and Brianna Dufour; sisters: twin sister, Eleanor Renshaw, Owensboro, KY, Mary Elizabeth Morris, Ft. Collins, CO, and Paula Pierson, Carmi, IL.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Margaret’s arrangements.

    It was with great sadness that we were told of Margie's passing!!! All the years that we were privileged to know her, were some very nice moments! Our young family gatherings had some memories too!! She will always be remembered for her kindness and how she was always there for most everyone.
