Kim Roth
January 5, 1962 ~ October 4, 2020
Kim Roth, 58, of Miller, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
Memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2020 at St. Ann’s Church, Miller with Father Paul Josten officiating. Burial followed at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Miller.
Kim was born on January 5th, 1962 in Miller to Lenny & Donna (Wherry) Roth. Kim attended all but two years in the Miller School; attending 4th and 5th grades in Onida. Kim proudly graduated as a Miller Rustler in 1980.
Kim spent many childhood days riding with her dad in the truck as he hauled eggs throughout northern South Dakota. Many weekends were spent camping with family and friends. She babysat the neighborhood kids, and later worked in the kitchen at the Hi-Lite.
On November 16, 1979, Kristen was born, giving Kim the title “Mom.” From that day, the “Kim and Kristen” duo began. In 2000, they proudly accepted the “Burger Flipper” at Bob’s Drive In. It was there they created countless memories and established the “Bob’s Babes.”
In December 2006, Kim began the long journey of battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, not once but twice. Kim was very grateful for the numerous volunteers and friends for their support and care during her fight. Cancer may have taken some from Kim, but her stubbornness won; giving her family and friends many more years of memories. She witnessed her daughter get married in 2014 and welcomed grandsons, Ivan (2016) and Owen (2018).
Throughout her life, she was a book-keeper for Tucker’s Super Value, Chipman’s Inc., and Tri-State Insulation. During the winter months Kim looked forward to her Wednesday nights bowling with the girls. Kim enjoyed going to the races to watch her son-in-law Dustin, spending time with her family, watching her grandsons grow and play, and keeping us informed with the latest 411. She was always willing to take in the neighborhood stray cat, and make it her own.
Kim is survived by her daughter, Kristen (Dustin) Arthur; two grandsons, Ivan and Owen Arthur; her mother, Donna Roth; siblings, DeAnn (Todd) Beckett and Dave (Deb) Roth; nieces, Dani (Paul) Walker, Lacey Beckett, Cassie (Christian Boomsma) Beckett, Karly Beckett and Heidi Roth; great nephews, Beckett Walker, Eric, Andre, and Kayden Roth; and great niece, Camilla Walker; uncle, Ken Roth; and special neighbors, Dennis and Mary Ellen Letsche.
Kim was greeted in Heaven by her dad, Lenny Roth; grandparents, Melvin & Mary Wherry and Fred & Agnes Roth; aunt, LeeAnn Roth; and niece, Ashley Roth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Kim's arrangements.

Sorry to hear of Kim's passing. May her family and friends cherish all the moments and memories they had with her. Sympathy to all.
Throughout Kim's life, she faced obstacles that most people only read about. Kim met them head on, wrestled, and overcome them… Yes there were very difficult ones as well as mild ones. She learned from each one. While her loss is felt by many, she has been given her freedom back as well as her pain removed. Dad and her are together watching and waiting for the rest of us to join them. You will be missed.
We always admired Kim, she had to grow up fast and she handled it with grace, just as she did when she fought cancer. Kristen, Donna and DeAnn we will keep you in our prayers.
My heartfelt sympathy to all who love Kim. My prayer is that her light will continue to grow brighter in your BEAUTIFUL memories of her!
