Alvin Bowker

Alvin “Alfie” Bowker, 37, of Eagle Butte, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Monumental Health, Rapid City, SD.

In compliance with the CRST Tribal Directives, a private family service will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the Blue Gym, Cherry Creek, with a procession at 11:00 a.m. from the hill east of town. Burial will take place at the Congregational Cemetery, Cherry Creek.

Alvin “Alfie” Loren Bowker was born August 4, 1983 in Eagle Butte. He spent his childhood years growing up in Cherry Creek, SD. He attended school in Takini, Dupree, and Eagle Butte.

Alvin had a great sense of humor. Although he kept to himself, he loved the company of his family and friends. He liked to visit with family by making phone calls to check up on them. Alvin was very helpful, and he appreciated everyone that came around. He enjoyed cooking, watching movies, and taking walks. He gratefully shared his life with his family and friends.

Alvin married Tonya Norcross on June 7, 2007.

He is survived by his 13-year-old daughter, Irene Bowker, St. Paul, MN; his mother and stepfather, Marian Bagola and George Eagle Chasing, Eagle Butte; two brothers, Derrill Bowker and Spencer Bagola, both of Eagle Butte; three sisters: Alvette Yellow Earring (Peter), Bullhead, SD, Donita and Donnette Flying By, Eagle Butte; and many nieces and nephews.

Alvin lays to rest with his great grandparents, Edith and Frank Waloke; grandparents, Irene and Llewellyn Bagola Sr.; uncle, Byron Bagola; brother, Marvin Bowker; sister, Alverda Lisa Bowker; grandparents, Clementine and Maurice Big Eagle and Susie and Virgil Bowker; uncles, Benny and Lyle Bowker; auntie, Blanche Bowker; and cousins: Chubbs Crow Ghost and Jake and Maureen Hollow Horn.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Alvin’s arrangements.
