Marjorie Meriweather, 87, of Miller, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.

Private funeral service will be Monday, December 28, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miller, with Pastor Nancy Eckels officiating.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Miller.  Friends and family are invited to watch the funeral livestreamed on the link above at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 28.

Marjorie Ann Hagen was born April 26, 1933 to Marcus and Emma (Siewert) Hagen at Sisseton, South Dakota. She attended school in Sisseton, graduating in 1950.

On December 20, 1952 she married Lewis “Pete” Meriweather in Sisseton, South Dakota. They moved throughout their early years. They resided in Sisseton, South Dakota; St. Paul, Minnesota; Wessington Springs, South Dakota; Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Eventually they moved to Miller, South Dakota, where they owned and operated a hardware store. For a time, she worked at Adventureland Video, later purchasing the business and rebranding it to Hometown Video. Marjorie also did a lot of videography for the residents of Miller and surrounding area. She rarely missed an event and recorded countless memories. When they decided to retire, they moved to Wessington, South Dakota.

Marjorie enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing card games such as pitch and bridge, and domino game, turkey tracks. While they lived in Nebraska, she received trophies for her clay pigeon shooting and drag racing. She and Pete were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller.

Left to carry on her legacy is her son, Mark (Lisa) Meriweather of Sioux Falls; grandson, Conner Meriweather of Madison; two nieces; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis “Pete” Meriweather in 2010; and sister, Lois (Charles) Fowler.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller.
