Joan Holm

Joan C. Holm, 78, of Cresbard, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the United Methodist Church, Cresbard with Pastor John Hale presiding. Burial will follow in the Cresbard Cemetery. All are welcome to attend but for those that are unable to attend, a recording of the service will be available after services. For those that are able to attend, the wearing of masks will be recommended.

Joanie was born to Walter and Melida (Saari) Keskitalo on November 25, 1942. She lived and worked in the Minneapolis area until she met and married Daryl G. Holm of Cresbard, SD on November 18, 1961.
Shortly after their marriage they moved back to Daryl’s hometown of Cresbard. There they worked at various businesses until purchasing their own business, Holm Oil Company, in 1978. Joanie worked side by side with her husband in building a business that they were both proud of. She also worked and volunteered in several jobs around the community.
Together they raised two sons, Brad (Patty) Holm of Aberdeen and Scott (LaDonna) Holm of Pierre. To this family two grandchildren were added, Stephanie (Jamie) Eulberg of Dupree and Ashley Holm (Tanner Gillaspie) of Ft. Pierre. Stephanie and Jamie blessed them with a great grandson, Bo, in 2019.
Joan is survived by her sister, Elma (Arnie) Olson, twin sister, Jean (Noel) Whitten; two brothers, Charlie (Sharon) Keskitalo and Dan (Sheila) Keskitalo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Darlys Holm. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Melida Keskitalo; her in laws, Robert and Erma Holm; and brother, Doug Keskitalo.
Joanie’s family would like to thank all of the staff at the Bethesda Nursing Home for making her comfortable and for providing support and comfort when we couldn’t be there.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Joan’s arrangements.
