Albert Tomahawk

Albert J. Tomahawk, 62, of Eagle Butte, passed away, Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Pierre.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m MST, Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte with Tim Swimmer officiating. Burial followed at Ascension Episcopal Cemetery in LaPlant. An all night wake service were held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the church in Eagle Butte.

Albert J. Tomahawk was born September 5, 1948 in Pierre, South Dakota to Robert and Elsie (Pretty Bear) Tomahawk. He attended school at Redfield until moving to California until his mid-20’s.  Albert then moved to Rapid City where he remained until the early 1970’s when he relocated to Eagle Butte. He resided in Eagle Butte until entering the Golden Living Center in Pierre in July of 2010.

Albert enjoyed his free time taking walks and watching old John Wayne movies.

He is survived by his daughter: Charlena Tomahawk of California; one granddaughter: Alayna Marie Clous; two brothers: John and Robert Tomahawk of Rapid City; one sister: Mary Tomahawk of Minnesota and one nephew: Jackie Ryman.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rose Walters Tomahawk and one brother, Harms Tomahawk.

Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Albert's arrangements.
