Jerrilyn Bowker, 60, of LaPlant, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., MDT, Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Church of God, LaPlant, Burial will follow at the LaPlant Congregational Cemetery A wake will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the church, with a procession from the hill east of town at 4:00 p.m. MDT.

Jerrilyn Jean Bowker was born February 12, 1962 to Jonas Jr. and Dorothy (Lee) Bowker at the Old Agency. She grew up in LaPlant, sometimes staying with her Grandma Lillian LeBeau. Jerrilyn went to school at Swiftbird Day School then moved to Cheyenne Eagle Butte High School.

She met Emery Different Horse and to this union two children were born: Sheldon Ray Bowker and Wynelle Marie Bowker.

Jerrilyn then met and married Collin Summers in 1998. She loved music, reading and most of all her two children. She also enjoyed going to activities at the church. She kept busy as a homemaker, raising her children, and many of her nieces and nephews. She had a big heart and a very giving person. Jerrilyn loved her parents.

Jerrilyn is survived by her mother, Dorothy; her two children: Sheldon and Wynelle; her brothers: Ronnie (Doretta), Harley, and Lester; sisters: Dixie LeCompte, Joni Ann, Darial, Shelly, Darlene, and Lisa Bowker; and special friend, Jake White Eagle III.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Jonas Bowker, Jr.; husband, Collin Summers; grandson: Isiah Iron Wing; sister, Orally Rowena Bowker; niece, Roxanne Rosas; nephews: Royce Bowker, Shawn Brown and Eric Scott; sister-in-law: Tamara Bowker; brother-in-law, Stanford Fire Cloud, and daughter-in-law, Donna Scott.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Jerrilyn’s arrangements.
