Aunt Emma was “the best.”
Your Mom and Dad were the beginning of an era as we kids knew it. Fond memories of Emma will always include her love of reading kid stuff including Jack and the Beanstalk when we were kids, all her extra comics, reading the German Bible in the native tongue, not batting an eyelash when we cut the hair off Linda dolly til she was bald because we were playing “barber”, or worrying about Gramma’s plants when Tim and the little kids played Monster around & around the house in the dark. She also explained to us little kids that thunder was just “angels bowling”. She always had an answer for anything. When we were kids she taught us that we could wear pants and still make beautiful music at the keyboard or create fancy cakes like petit fours. We learned a lot from Emma. We are fortunate to count her as an aunt.
I am so sorry to learn about Emma’s death. I remember her at the drug store when I was a little girl, and later working with both your parents at the Potter County News. They were truly good, kind, hard-working people who were well liked and respected. It’s so sad to lose someone you love — but we were all better for having known Emma! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

May God Bless your family during this time of sorrow. My heartfelt prayers are with you.
I think about the Nolds from time to time. I am saddened to read about Emma. For me, age has taken away much of the past but I still have fond memories of my times with your family. As a dear friend of mine, now also passed, always said; “Gracious memories, how they linger.”
