Clarissa Mary Sargeant was born December 27, 1975, to Ivan, Sr. and Marylee (Adams) Sargeant in Rapid City, SD. She was raised in Stephan, SD along with her brothers and sisters. She attended Fort Thompson Elementary, Crow Creek and Highmore schools. She later graduated from 8th grade but never completed high school after the passing of her twin sister.
In July of 1997, Clarissa worked for Cedar Shore. In 1999, she worked at the Lode Star Casino for two years. From 2008 to 2014 she worked at the Crow Creek high school on and off, she loved all the students and staff she was able to meet and work with.
Clarissa was such a very caring, loving, kindhearted, and respectful person. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to travel, fishing, cookouts, eating out, playing Bingo, and the casino. She liked powwows, where she loved to spend time with family and friends that come from far away. She loved to take care of her nephews and niece Paul, Stanley, and Evelyn. She always put them first and always worried about them and if they will be okay. She also came to love Lucy and Vanessa’s little ones, Brystal, ten months, and Delreace, seven years old. Delreace was always her little helper. He would push her around in her wheelchair outside or in her room. He would also help her with food and drinks. She loved them both very much.
Clarissa will always be remembered as Grandma. Everyone knew her by that nickname, and she grew to like the title.
She is now rejoicing in heaven with her twin sister, Melissa, whom she loved and missed dearly over the years. You can now just picture how happy she is with her and Trisha, and her mom and dad. Clarissa will forever be missed by all who loved her, she loved everyone.
Clarissa is survived by her sisters: Lucy Sargeant of Lower Brule, Jackie Sargeant (Miller) of Macy, NE, Charlene Iron Star of Roslyn, Susan Roberts of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brothers: Ivan Sargeant, Jr. of Stephan, Brian Sargeant of Macy, NE, Willie Adams, and Mike Adams both of Sioux Falls, and Author Zampese of TX; nieces and nephews: Paul, Stanley and Evelyn and many more too numerous to mention.
She will be welcomed home by her mother, Marylee (Adams) Sargeant; father, Ivan Sargeant, Sr.; sisters: Melissa Sargeant, Trisha Adams; brother, Joseph Narccreolli; aunts: Gail Red Hawk, Iris Sargeant, and Ellen Martinez; uncles: John Red Hawk, Wardell Red Hawk, Merle Sargeant, and Francis Martinez; parental grandparents: Panzy McBride, and Andrew Sargeant; and maternal grandparents: Jenette Red Hawk and Stanley Lorn Adams.
