Larry Raethz, 60, of Faulkton, died Saturday, December 09, 2006 at his residence.
Memorial service was held at 2:00p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Mike Ward officiating. Burial was in the Faulkton Cemetery, directed by Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton. A prayer service was held at 7:00p.m. Monday, December 11 at the United Church of Faulkton.
Larry Gene Raethz was born November 20, 1946 to Irvin “Jack” and Viola (Olson) Raethz in Ipswich. He attended and graduated from Cresbard High School in 1964. He married Betty Peterson of Ipswich on February 12, 1965 and to this union, two children were born: Laurie and Dennis. They later divorced in 1984. Larry later married Darla Ryman of Faulkton on July 26, 1985 and to this union, one daughter was born: Jamie.
Larry owned and operated the Short Stop Bar of Faulkton and was employed with Pfeifer Construction for several years. At the time of his death, he was working at Common Sense MFG in Faulkton.
Larry was a Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed bowling, golfing, and darts.
His memory will be cherished by his wife: Darla of Faulkton; children: Laurie (Phil) Jungwirth of Farmington, MN; Dennis (Deb) Raethz of Rockford, IL, and Jamie Raethz of Faulkton; sister: Sharon (Dave) Johnson of Faulkton; brother: Richard (Judy) Raethz of Faulkton; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Viola in 2001 and his father Irvin “Jack” in 2002.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

I am SO sorry to hear about Larry! This is just horrible! Mom called me early Saturday morning and I was just shocked! I am sorry I won’t be able to come home, but my thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time!! Stay strong!
