Loretta Joan Hooyer was born August 25, 1949, to John and Wilmena (DeBoer) Hooyer in Tyler, Minnesota. She attended first through eighth grade at Arco Elementary School; then completed ninth through twelfth grade and graduating from Ivanhoe High School.
In July of 1971, she married Darwin Lundberg and to this union one daughter was born, Marci.
At age 21, Loretta started working at the Lincoln County Recorder in Ivanhoe, Minnesota, where she would dedicate the next 50 years. During these years, Loretta was extremely active in her community from serving on numerous boards, to delivering meals on wheels.
Loretta had many hobbies; she was on a golf league for over 30 years and has golfed on many courses. She made hundreds of teddy bears for her loved ones on special birthdays and occasions, even from clothes of the deceased for their families. If she was not found doing either of these things, she was most likely out in her garden. Many people knew flowers were her “thing”.
Although Loretta loved her hobbies, her first and favorite past time was spending time with her family. Loretta’s grandchildren were the light of her life and she adored spending time with them. After she retired, she moved to Miller just to be closer to them and her daughter and son-in-law.
Loretta will be missed by her daughter, Marci (Chris) Asmus; grandchildren: Sydney, Hadleigh, Kinsley and Tynleigh; sister, Sharon (Bob) VanHecke; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Larry Hooyer and Jim Hooyer; and nephew and Godson, Brett VanHecke.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Loretta's arrangements.

How saddened We we’re to learn of Loretta’s passing. I hand hoped she could have won her battle with cancer. We appreciated seeing her in our church, bringing her granddaughters and I briefly became acquainted with her. She was a gentle, optimistic lady who I would have enjoyed getting to really know. Please accept our sincere sympathy— May Gods love and grace give you peace. Harlan and Kathy Meier
