July 18, 1967 ~ February 9, 2022

Brenda Namanny, 54, of Miller, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Upon Brenda's request no formal services will be held.   There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.

Brenda Reed was born July 18, 1967, in Oakes, North Dakota to Mary (Kirkpatrick) and Harold Reed.  She graduated from Oakes High School in 1985.

She worked as an aide in a nursing home in North Dakota until moving to Miller in 1997.  It was there, in Miller, she met Gary Namanny and later married him in 2004.  To this union one son, Zach, was born.

Brenda first worked at the nursing home in Miller and then the Courtyard Villa as a medical aide for the next 20 years.  In September of 2021, she retired after finding out she was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer.

She was a very hard worker and gave her heart to all of her residents, and they all loved her in return. Brenda also made sure her family knew they were very loved and important to her. She showed her love by playing pranks and jokes on them whenever she could.

Brenda was always loving life, whether she was playing card games (or really any game), reading, loving all animals, sitting down with a jig saw puzzle, riding motorcycles with Gary or just sitting and relaxing on the porch.  Another one of her favorite pastimes was watching her favorite show, SpongeBob.

Brenda will be greatly missed by her husband, Gary; son, Zach; nine siblings: Gary Jordan, Oakes, ND, Larry Hopkins, Rapid City, Ronnie Hopkins, Comanche, TX, Duane Hopkins, Crete, ND, Lorraine (Robert) Johnson, Bellplaine, KS, Marlene Sidoti, Rimrock, AZ, Merle (Lori) Reed, Aberdeen, Harlan Reed, Highmore, and Jason (Whitney) Reed, Sioux Falls; parents-in-law: Mike and Peggy Namanny; brother-in-law: Clint (Angie) Namanny; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents: Mary and Harold Reed; and brother; Donald Reed.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Brenda's arrangements.
