James “Jim” Beidler, 55, of Faulkton, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2022 at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Polo with Fr. Randy Phillips presiding.
Jim was born on June 3, 1966 in Huron, SD to Mary Ann (Wieseler) and Elwood Beidler. He grew up on a farm south of Orient, SD, and attended St. Liborius and Polo High School, graduating in 1984. Even before finishing high school, Jim began his farming career with his father and brothers. On September 7, 1990, Jim married the love of his life, Diane Koeck in Miller, SD. Jim and Diane farmed south of Orient until they moved to Faulkton in 2006. Jim continued to farm in the area. His drive and passion for farming improvements lead him to become a certified crop advisor. Besides his love of farming, Jim was a “foodie.” He loved brewing a great cup of coffee and finding gadgets to make the best food. He was an avid sports fan of the Faulkton Trojans and Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved to engage in conversations especially with his in-laws, the Koeck boys; his family, and friend, Rick Knecht. “The thing about it is...” Jim loved to talk. But most of all, his family meant more to him than anything else in the world and he was most proud of his children, Courtney and Kurt.
Privileged to have shared in Jim’s life are his wife of 32 years, Diane, Faulkton; two children: Courtney (Austin Dockter), Milbank, SD, and Kurt, Faulkton, SD; mother, Mary Ann Beidler, Faulkton, SD; five siblings: Marilyn (Gary) Campbell, Marvin (Tracy) Beidler, Rick (Susan Baxter) Beidler, Carol (Jason) Poppens, and Brian (Audumn) Beidler; along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins; and most recently, his grand puppy, Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elwood; his in-laws, Francis and Agnes Koeck; maternal grandparents, Albert and Anna Wieseler; paternal grandparents, Robert and Marion Beidler; and niece, Michelle Beidler.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Jim’s arrangements.
