Dale Blue Coat, 53, of Denver, Colorado and formally of Eagle Butte, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, in Denver.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. MDT, Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, On The Tree. A procession will form at 9:00 a.m. MDT, at the 4-mile.
Dale Lewis Blue Coat was born on July 2, 1968, to Jerry Blue Coat and Thelma Janis. He attended school in Eagle Butte and later attended Brainerd Indian School in Hot Springs, SD. He then went to work in Minneapolis, Minnesota, later moving to Denver, Colorado where he resided with his brother, Richard “Rick”, until the time of his passing.
Dale is survived by one brother, Richard “Rick” Blue Coat of Denver, CO; two sisters, Joyce Young Bird and family of Eagle Butte, SD and Mary Ann of Garretson, SD; and aunt, Marge Clown of Eagle Butte, SD.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Blue Coat and Thelma Janis; two sisters, Charlotte and Rita; two brothers, Arnold and Vincent Boyd; and niece, Rita Memoree LeBeau.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Dale’s arrangements.
