Scott C. Teason, 49, of Miller, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller after a brave battle with Glioblastoma.

Celebration of Scott's Life will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2022, at the St. Lawrence Park in St. Lawrence, South Dakota.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family. An educational school fund for Kalley and Ryker will be established.

Scott was born in Bethesda, Maryland at the naval hospital.  Being a military brat, Scott and his family moved a lot, so his childhood years were spent in Virginia, North Carolina, Okinawa, Japan and California.  Scott was known to be adventurous during his younger years, just ask his friends and family.

Scott attended Oceaneering Underwater Welding School in San Diego, California.  His welding experience later led him to work at HMMI in Huron from 2005-2011, ADM in Harrold, and then South Dakota Soybean Processors until December 8th, 2020, due to his glioblastoma diagnosis.

Making some thunder is what Scott loved, whether it be riding his Harley, driving his Hot Rod, or just wearing his kilt.  He was the center of attention anywhere he went.  Scott had a passion for cooking, BBQ-ing, and brewing anything.

Behind the “bad guy” persona, you would find a loving, caring, devoted dad and husband that was determined to provide for his family.

Scott’s motto and brotherly crest states “To Be Rather Than to Seem”.

Scott leaves his wife, Trisha; two beautiful children: Kalley LaVelle and Ryker Laing; mother, Linda; dad, Dennis; stepmom, Gig (MC); brothers: Craig, Curtis (Wendy), and Derek (Ashley); his parents-in-law: Dale and LeAnn Resel; as well as countless other relatives, friends and co-workers.

Waiting for his arrival into heaven was his dad, Marvin Wilson Laing, Jr. and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Scott's arrangements.

A Celebration of Life was held on May 6, 2022 at 3:00 PM at St. Lawrence Park, HWY 14 & Park Place in St. Lawrence, South Dakota 57373

  10. Scott and I spent much of our teen years together, raising all kinds of hell all over southern California, along with both of his brothers. I've been on the back of a motorcycle going 160+mph with him, swimming in the pacific ocean with him, wrestling with him, and even in handcuffs with him. He had an intensity that was rare among people, and a lust for living that sometimes even exceeded my own. I'm really sad to hear of his passing and offer up some crazy stories about "Pops" to his kids one day…perhaps when they're a bit older.

  11. Dear Trisha and family:
Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of Scott!! I always enjoyed visiting visiting with you two and your folks at the Hi-Lite. As I have a prior commitment on Friday afternoon, I will be unable to attend the Celebration of Life, but will be lifting you all up in my prayers! HUGS and GOD'S BLESSINGS!!✝️🙏
