Rob Kaiser
January 8, 1967 ~ October 11, 2022
Robert “Rob” D. Kaiser, 55, of Murdo and formerly of Wecota, SD, went to his new home in Heaven on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
Private services will be held at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Faulkton, with Fr. Randy Phillips presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Faulkton.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Faulkton, SD.
Robert Donald Kaiser was born January 8, 1967, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen, SD, to Walt and Carolyn (Anglin) Kaiser. In 1968, he moved with his family to Wecota, SD. Rob received his education in Cresbard, graduating with the class of 1985. While attending school, Rob was involved in baseball, football, and basketball. Rob continued his education at Black Hills State University, graduating in 1989 with a degree in teaching.
In 1990, Rob moved to Murdo and began his teaching career and coaching with Jones County High School. In 1999, he left teaching for a position with West Central Electric Coop working as their finance officer.
Rob served as a director for the Black Hills Credit Union and was a member of the Murdo Country Club, Jones County Lions, and St. Martin’s Catholic Church. Within St. Martin’s, he served as a lector, eucharistic minister and as finance officer.
Rob enjoyed sports of all kinds. He loved to golf, was the keeper of the clock at all Jones County basketball games and could be heard while announcing all home football games. He attended many State B basketball tournaments, South Dakota State Track meets, and Summit League games. He even did radio play by play of the SD High School football playoff games in Vermillion with his good friend, Steve Ammerman. Rob was an avid sports fan who loved the Fighting Irish and traveled often to Minneapolis to see his favorite (and yet disappointing) Twins and Vikings. A huge highlight for Rob was getting to attend the Winter Olympics’ in Park City, UT.
Rob leaves behind his parents: Walt and Carolyn Kaiser, Faulkton; sister, Lori (Eric) Frommelt, Minneapolis, MN; brother: Tom (Laura) Kaiser, Warner; nephew, Spencer, SDSU; and paternal grandmother, Laurene Kaiser, Bowdle.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother; maternal grandparents: Delbert and Elizabeth Anglin; and paternal grandfather, Hubert Kaiser.
He will be greatly missed by his family, coworkers, and many friends.
Rob was also a silent helper and loved helping many folks, giving of himself wherever he could. This selflessness continued upon his death. Rob was an organ and tissues donor, donating all that he could through Live On Nebraska.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Rob’s arrangements.

Kaiser family: Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Rob was a colleague of ours in the electric coop family. He was one of a kind and one of the smartest finance guys I know. We could always get a good laugh from Rob. Yes, he loved his sports and knew them well. He will be greatly missed by all.
Lived in the same dorm at BHSU and was a friend of Robs. Lost touch with him after college. He loved sports and was a great dude,

Kaiser Family-Rob was a huge asset to our Murdo community. From teaching, to running the clock and announcing ball games, involvement with the Golf Course and caretaker of St. Martins Catholic Church he was always willing to step up and help. Always cheerful, smiling and a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed here in Murdo-especially by his Catholic family. He was always there-doing whatever was needed. Thank you Rob and may you Rest In Peace.
To all of Robs family…my deepest condolences on your loss. I am thinking of you all and sending hugs and prayers. I did not know Rob personally, but I have been hearing so many wonderful things from his friends and co-workers in the Electric Industry who knew him. He will be missed! Susie (Arbach) Peters, Wall
My deepest sympathies to the Kaiser family. Rob donated a lot of time to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Murdo when I worked at the Diocese of Rapid City. He was always willing to help with whatever was needing to be done for his parish. He was a caring and generous man and will be sincerely missed. May he Rest In Peace with the Lord.
