Gregory Eining
March 4, 1953 ~ January 20, 2023
In lieu of flowers, Greg requested all memorials be sent to Hands of Hope, PO Box 144, Miller, 57362.
Gregory F. Eining, 69, of St. Lawrence, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at his sisters home in St. Lawrence, with his family by his side.
Memorial Mass will be 1:00 p.m., Friday January 27, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huron, Fr. Larry Regynski, celebrant.
Greg was born in Huron, South Dakota, on March 4, 1953, to Bill and Mary (Marsh) Eining. Greg was baptized, confirmed and a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Iroquois, South Dakota. Greg attended and graduated from Iroquois High School.
Greg had a love for the outdoors at a young age, and this carried on throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening, raising a large garden every year. His neighbors also appreciated Greg’s garden as he would leave bags of his produce on their doorsteps all throughout harvest. Greg loved to fish, play cards, and visit with his neighbors.
He had a very special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, showering them with love and way too much candy over the holidays.
He had various jobs and trades throughout his life. He really enjoyed working with his hands as a “jack of all trades”. Greg enjoyed roofing, carpentry, and trucking but his favorite job was being a part of his brother-in-law’s farming operation over the last 15 years. Greg was always talking about farming, crops and cattle with his family and friends.
Blessed to have shared in Greg’s life are his siblings: Bill (Janice) Eining, Huron, Sandi (Marlen) Winter, St. Lawrence, Sharon (Bruce Heitman) Eining, Sioux Falls, Traci (Bryan) Flanigan, Urbandale, Iowa, Steve Eining, Brookings, Joe Eining, Dell Rapids, Keith (Jodie) Eining, Dell Rapids, Lori (Jamie) Reetz, Webster; sister-in-law, Becky Eining, Sommerset; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Mary; grandparents: Ed and Alice Eining, Neil Francis, Hazel, and Laurena Marsh; brother, Kim Eining; and nephew, Jeremiah Eining.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Greg's arrangements.

Sandy and fam…I am so very sorry to hear this news. Lots of memories with him. Know that you and your family are in a lot of prayers right now.
Our sympathies to the family.
My condolences to the family. When losing a loved one it can be unbearable. In the Bible book of Isaiah 25:8 Jehovah God promises soon to "swallow up death forever." He also promises to bring back those who have fallen asleep in death (Acts 24:15). In a little while longer this kind of pain will be a thing of the past (Revelations 21:4). May these scriptures bring you comfort in this difficult time (jw.org)
My Sympathies to all of Greg’s family. I always enjoyed visiting with him when I would go visit Aunt Janice and Bill. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers!
So sorry to hear of Greg's passing. Prayers.
Our thoughts and prayers for all Greg's family.
Sympathy and prayers for the family.
thinking of you all and remembering some moments as a kid in the Eining House!
