Richard Arthur Frank was born to Arthur William and Adeline Irene (Prodoehl) Frank in Olivia, Minnesota on March 27, 1941. He grew up in Olivia, graduating from high school in 1959. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with his mortuary science degree in 1968. After graduating, he worked in Minneapolis and later moved to Huron, SD to work at Aaseth Funeral Home. In 1973, he moved to Miller, SD to manage and later purchase Reck Funeral Home, retiring in March of 2000.
He married Julie Aaseth on October 9, 1965, and to this union, three children were born: Daren, Justin, and Emily. They later divorced. Dick loved airplanes, kites, and trains. He would take his kids to airshows and family trips snow skiing. He became a pilot, enjoyed flying whenever he could, and along with hanging out at the Miller Airport. Dick never missed attending his kids’ events during their school years. He taught them to be able to laugh at themselves. Dick had a fun side to him and knew how to have a good time.
Dick enjoyed being involved in the community. His favorite pastime was playing golf at the Miller Golf Course. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller, the South Dakota Funeral Directors Association, and the Miller Lions Club.
Dick loved splitting his time between Miller and Chandler, Arizona. On July 22, 2017, he married Bobbi Rosemore. Together, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Grateful to be a part of his life is his wife, Bobbi of Miller; children: Daren Frank, Justin (Wendy) Frank, and Emily (Thomas) Ryan, all of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren: Claire Ryan, Finley Frank, Mila Frank, Colin Ryan, and Kasch Frank, stepchildren: Marla (Eric) Bertsch, DeAnn (Jeff) Hargens, and Michael Rosemore; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and foster-sisters: Deb (Charles) Menting and MaryAnn (Daniel) Luoma.
