August 10, 1953 ~ July 25, 2023

Polly Ediger (Carol Leeann Morford), 69, died peacefully Tuesday, July 25, 2023, surrounded by caring staff of the Good Samaritan Society, Miller.

Celebration of Polly's life will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 11, 2023, at Reck Funeral Home, Miller.

Carol Leeann Morford was born August 10, 1953, in Highmore, South Dakota to Carroll and Pat (Coffman) Morford. She graduated from Highmore High School in 1971.

On September 1, 1973, Polly married Jim Ediger, whom she met while studying at the University of South Dakota. Their marriage that lasted six years yielded the two most important people in her life: Benjamin James and Billie Elizabeth.  Over the course of the next decade, Polly and her two children spent time living in Grand Forks, North Dakota; Phoenix, Arizona; and finally settled just outside of Madison, Wisconsin.  Polly spent the next 30 years in Wisconsin.  In 2017, she moved back to Miller to be closer to her father, Carroll Morford and her stepsister, Mary Johnson.

Polly was known for her remarkable style, wicked sense of humor, spunky spirit, and love for design and gardening. What she will be most remembered for was how she loved her family and friends fiercely and with purpose. She made everything special. Above all else, Polly was a loving mother and grandmother—her children would not be where they are today if it were not for her everlasting support.

Survivors include her two children: Benjamin James Ediger of Portland, Oregon and Billie Elizabeth St Martin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; granddaughters: Pepper Roy Ediger and Emerson Rose St Martin; mother: Pat Miller of Valley City, North Dakota; father, Carroll Morford of Highmore, South Dakota; and stepsibling, Randy (Gwen) Johnson of Miller, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her stepsister, Mary Johnson; brother, Rodney Morford; stepmother, Margaret Morford; and stepfather, Calvin Miller.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Polly's arrangements.

A Celebration of Life was held on August 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Reck Funeral Home, 313 E. 1st Ave. in Miller, SD 57362
