Craig Lee

Craig Lee, 42, of LaPlant, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, in LaPlant. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. MST, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Church of God, LaPlant. Burial will follow in Virgin Creek Cemetery, LaPlant. A wake service will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024, at the church, with a procession at 4:00 p.m. from the 2-mile corner east of LaPlant.

Craig Lear Lee was born March 6, 1982, in Mobridge, SD to Ford L. Hill and Mollie Lee. He was raised in LaPlant, SD and attended Swiftbird Day School, Crow Creek, Eagle Butte, and LaPlant schools. Craig later received his G.E.D. in 2000. He spoke and understood Lakota. He was taught by his grandfather, Francis Lee Sr.

Craig was a kindhearted man. He liked to play horseshoes, ride horses, go fishing, and spend time with family and friends. He was a true jack of all trades. He enjoyed helping his community with anything they needed. He was a firefighter and ranch hand. 

Craig will be dearly missed by his parents: Ford L. Hill and Mollie Lee; brother, Delory Lee (Debeau); sisters: Keisha and Kelcie; nieces: Demi, KK, Khloe, Jae’Rose, and Alani; nephews: Akicita and Jackson; many other nieces and nephews; aunties: Lola Lee, Shirley Dupris, and Rhonda Kampeska; uncles: Arlen, Glenn, Lonnie and Kee Lee; cousins: Sami (Mike) Starr, Tina (Ted) Rousseau, Tyler Lee, Shania Lee, Sharon Lee, Ivis and Isaiah Lee, Ashley and Thomas Lee, David Lee, Kyle Lee, Priscilla Pretty Weasel, Kirsten Pretty Weasel, and Olivia and Laurent Howard. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Myra and Francis P. Lee; uncles: Francis Jr., Myrlin, and Tommy Lee; aunt, Beverly Cloud Eagle; and sister, Tommie Lee Hill.
