Pam (Shoup) Goebel, 76, of Gettysburg, left us peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls, surrounded by her family.  Pam was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gettysburg, with Fr. Joe Holzhauser presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Gettysburg. A prayer service will be 6:30 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the church, with visitation one hour prior.

Pam was born on July 2, 1948, in Onida, SD, to Francis and Elsie Shoup.  She was raised on a farm south of Cottonwood Lake.  She attended country grade school and high school in Agar, SD, where she was a cheerleader for the Hi-Pointers.

She married her high school sweetheart, Dean Goebel, on January 22, 1966, in Gettysburg. To this union, they were blessed with four children: Julie, Jeff, Jerrid, and Justin.

Pam enjoyed working in her yard and had a beautifully manicured lawn where she spent many hours. She took the same pride in her home, and she loved to decorate, especially during the holidays.  She had a strong Catholic faith and lived by her Christian values, which were also passed on to her family, which made her heart warm.

Touted as her greatest achievement was her family.  Pam was willing to lend a hand to any one of the kids at any time.  In the earlier years, Pam could be found driving the combine during harvest and making lunches for the men.  Pam was at any sporting event that her kids or grandkids played in.  She enjoyed coffee time with her lady friends, and over the past few years, she had a soft heart for any pets or animals that came around their home.

Pam is survived by her loving husband, Dean; her four children: Julie (Dave) Kilian, Gettysburg, Jeff (Andrea) Goebel, Gettysburg, Jerrid (Cami) Goebel, Sturgis, and Justin (Sarah) Goebel, Gettysburg; 10 grandchildren: Kyle (Kristin) Hawkinson, Jada (Alex) Rausch, Kole (Karen Smith) Hawkinson, Faith, Eve and Noah Goebel, Ciarra (Gordon) Phillip, Kenna and Zoey Goebel and Jaydon Goebel; six great grandchildren: Kolson and Kaidra Hawkinson, Brooks and Avery Rausch, and Kru and Novi Phillip; siblings, Dennis Shoup, Judy (Dean) Maroney, Larry (Maralee) Shoup, Bill (Joyce) Shoup; sister-in-law Nancy (Bob) Shoup; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jodi Lenn; parents, Francis and Elsie Shoup; brother, Bob Shoup; and sister-in-law, Liz Shoup.
